Description and uses:

Chocolate Mint is a perennial and hardy member of the Lamiaceae family.
It is a variety with rather round, medium-sized, dark green leaves.
Its flowering is purple and takes place at the beginning of August like that of Swiss mint or strawberry mint.
Its seeds are small and round, they are the size of those of St. John's wort.
Stem cuttings are easy and effective in early spring.

It's a surprising variety with leaves that are both chocolatey and minty.
To be used mainly for infusions, desserts and other culinary follies such as banana mint or orange mint.

Planting:

Chocolate mint 10 to 20 cm high.
Upon receipt, plant it in a 3 to 5 liter pot, pack it well then water generously during planting.
Then place the culture in a bright place.

It is also possible to cultivate it directly in the ground in the garden or vegetable patch in a bright location.

It is important not to put two different varieties in the same place because they hybridize very quickly and lose their flavors.

Cultivate in a semi-shaded location, on well-draining, cool soil.

  • Hardy, fast-growing perennial species.
  • Use for cooking, infusions and herbal teas.

Here you will find a beautiful collection of mint to acquire.
