Bolivian torch, sacred cactus, Trichocereus bridgesii or Echinopsis lageniformis is a sacred cactus from Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico.
It is commonly called achuma.
It has a very fast growth and has very beautiful fragrant white and yellow flowers.
Fruit is red and sweet.
This cactus is dark green in color.
Bolivian torch can measure up to 6 m in height in its original habitat.

This large cactus was eaten raw in the La Paz region of Mexico.
It would contain a lot more alkaloid than San Pedro or Peruvian torch.
This sacred cactus is used in traditional medicine, or to treat animals.
Trichocereus bridgesii has also been used for over 3000 years in the Andean region for ritual or divination ceremonies.

Echinopsis lageniformis is used in medicine to treat wounds, irritations by simply depositing a piece of cactus on the wound and sinusitis by cutting a slice of the stem, without thorns and then placed on the forehead of the person.
