Japanese parsley, also called Mitsuba parsley or Cryptotaenia japonica, is a perennial herbaceous, aromatic Japanese condiment plant.
It measures around twenty centimeters at adult size.
It is a small, hardy perennial plant that can withstand temperatures down to -15°C in winter.
Mitsuba parsley has refreshing flavor with a slightly bitter taste.
Its foliage is fine and palmate.
Japanese parsley seeds are fine and long like those of rough chervil.

In Japan, Japanese parsley is commonly used in traditional cuisine as a garnish in soups, on top of dishes to enhance them or as an ingredient when making sushi.

This species is also used in traditional Chinese medicine.


Japanese parsley plant
10 to 20 cm high, delivered in plugs.

As soon as you receive the Japanese parsley plant, plant it in a 2 liter pot with a good amount of horticultural soil.
Use clay balls at the bottom of the pot to promote drainage.
Water the plant as soon as it is planted and place it in a sunny or semi-shaded location.

It is possible to plant the Mitsuba directly in the ground in the garden.
