Camellia sinensis CHINESE TEA (plant)

Tea plant also called Camellia sinensis in Latin or more simply tea, like the infusion of its leaves.
It is a shrub of the Theaceae family growing in soil with an acid Ph.

It is originally from the Far East.
The tea plant is an evergreen tree, which can reach 10 m to 15 m, up to 20 m for certain varieties.

It is cultivated for the production of its leaves which, once dried and more or less oxidized, are used to prepare tea by infusion.
Its leaves, when unfermented, are used in herbal medicine.

Tea plant 10 to 20 cm high delivered in a plug with a good, well-developed root system.
As soon as you receive the tea plant, transplant it into a 5 liter pot with heather soil or peat, not potting soil or compost.
Remember to drain the bottom of your pot with clay balls when planting then water well.

It is also possible to plant your plant directly in the ground. To do this, dig a 50 cm hole in all directions, place a plastic sheet then make several cross-shaped holes in the bottom.
Add previously moistened heather soil then plant the tea plant.
Choose a cool, semi-shaded place.
The growth of tea is generally long.
