Gorria pepper is native to South America.
This Gorria pepper was introduced to the Basque country in Espelette in the seventeenth century.
It measures 50 to 60 cm in height.
Its fruits are rather long and thick orange then bright red.
Its flowers are white with 5 petals and open in May and June before leaving room for peppers.

This Gorria pepper was first used in medicine then, very quickly, as a substitute for black pepper, condiment and preservative meat.
On the scale of Scoville, this type of pepper 1,500 units of scoville which is low so not excessively hot as the Jalapeno pepper.

Sowing Gorria pepper seeds:
Prepare a small box of fine horticultural compost.
