More info

Guava or Psidium guajava is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
The guava or Psidium guajava is a fruit tree of the Myrtaceae family.

Guava is a Mexican plant that has always been used by the different ethnic groups of the world.
The guava tree is a fruit tree of great economic importance.

Guavas are eaten fresh and can be made into jams, jellies and fruit juices, just like papayalychee or passion fruit.
Its leaves, previously washed, can be chewed or used to prepare a decoction that is drunk in case of diarrhea, especially when contracting the tourista.

In Africa, the Ghanaian GA tribe chews the fresh leaves of Psidium during ethnic ceremonies, which would make them in a state similar to that of low-dose alcohol abuse.

In the Philippines, they take guava leaves as a substitute for areca nut (Areca catechu) when they have to prepare and consume Betel.
Betel is traditionally prepared as follows: a Piper betle leaf, lime and ground areca nut.

Sowing guava seeds:
Sow your guava seeds in a mixture of acidic substrate and vermiculite.
Cover with a few millimeters the seeds of Psydium guajava then spray with water.
Finally, place your pots in a very hot and humid place.
The germination of guava seeds lasts 2 to 3 weeks.
When the guava seedlings are 5 cm, transplant them into separate pots.

Exotic and tropical plant to discover.
Do not consume leaves for recreational purposes, only fruits.
