Erythrina indica called also Corail tree is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of eastern Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, northern Australia, and the islands of the Indian Ocean.

Erythrina indica valued as an ornamental tree.
In Vietnam, the leaves of Corail tree are used to wrap fermented meat.

The seeds of Erythrina indica were used by the ancient Aztecs as a medicinal remedy and as nootropic during religious rituals.
In Guatemala, coral tree seeds are used for divination in shamanic rituals.

Nowadays, seeds are mainly used to make necklaces and other ethnic jewelry, as are saga tree, sea beanflamboyant or tamarind.
This plant also serve as a support for pepper plants.

In Ayurvedic medicine, the erythrin contained in Erythrina indica cures inflammation, eating disorders, anorexia, but also flatulence, worms and colic.

Seedling of Erythrina indica seeds:
To grow it, soak your coral tree seeds in warm water for 24 hours.
Then plant your seeds under a 5 mm depth in a substrate with a slightly acidic pH.
Water and place your pot at a temperature of 25 to 30 ° C.
The germination of coral tree seeds takes place 2-4 weeks later.
