Miscanthus sinensis, maiden-grass or elephant grass is a herbaceous plant of the family Gramineae.
This herb measures 2 to 4 meters in height.
It is called giant grass.
Its flowers are pink in summer.
Miscanthus sinensis is native to Asia: China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Elephant grass seeds are small, white in color, similar to those of Palmarosa or Pampas grass.
Elephant grass is used for weaving and matting.

It is one of the parents of Miscanthus × giganteus, the giant Miscanthus.
The latter was created with the objective of producing lignocellulosic biomass crops in industrial quantities intended to produce agrofuels or a renewable fuel just like Barbados nut.
This giant grass is usually eaten by Asian elephants.

Sowing Elephant Grass Seeds:

Sow seeds in a box of fine potting soil, cover the seeds with 2 to 3 millimeters of substrate and then compact.
