More info

Ash or Fraxinus excelsior is a tree of the family Oleaceae.
It is common forests of Europe.
Ash has a hard wood and very elastic.
It is about 10 meters high.
Ash seeds are achenes, also called samaras, like the Japanese maple.

Its wood is sought after for the manufacture of tool handles because of its resistance to bending and impact.

In popular medicine, the leaves of Fraxinus excelsior are consumed in infusion and are known to be diuretic and laxative as well as the Coffee senna.

Sowing of Ash seeds:
The seeds of Fraxinus excelsior must be stratified before germination.
For this, it is possible either to stratify naturally leaving the seeds outside in winter, or by putting them in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks.
Once the stratification is done, plant the ash seeds upside down in pots separately under 1 to 2 centimeters of fine potting soil.
Finally, gently water the seedlings then place your crop in a warm place at a temperature close to 20 to 25 ° C.
Ash seeds usually germinate between 2 and 3 weeks.
