kaim or Mitragyna parvifolia is a large deciduous tree of the family Rubiaceae.
It has a gray bark, its flowers are shaped like yellow balls.
The kaim comes from Sri Lanka.

In traditional medicine, its roots and bark are used to fight fever.
The kaim leaves are used as anti-inflammatories, against internal and external hemorrhages, wounds, skin diseases, leprosy and fever.
Not to be confused with kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) which is also a medicinal tree.
