More info

Papaver rhoeas or corn poppy is a herbaceous species of flowering plant in the poppy family, Papaveraceae.
This poppy, a native of Europe, is notable as an agricultural weed.

Papaver rhoeas is a annual plant, forming a long-lived soil seed bank that can germinate when the soil is disturbed.
In the northern hemisphere it generally flowers in late spring, but if the weather is warm enough other flowers frequently appear at the beginning of autumn.
It grows up to about 70cm in height.

Corn poppy contains the alkaloid rhoeadine which is a mild sedative.

Sowing corn poppy seeds:

Sow your corn poppy seeds directly in place if it is in the ground or in a large pot of 15 to 20 cm in diameter in April.
Then, gently sprinkle your crop with a watering can and let it grow quietly.
Corn poppy seeds germinate generally between 3 and 5 weeks.

Coquelicot, une fleur merveilleuse

Que c'est beau de voir des champs de coquelicot, cela me rappelle mon enfance.
Il pousse un peu n'importe où, et donne de belles fleurs rouge.
