Lardizabala biternata or zabala, is a tropical liana of the family Lardizabalaceae.
It is an extremely rare climbing plant native to Chile and Peru.
It produces beautiful black flowers in the yellow center.
Its growth is rather fast.
Zabala seeds are dark brown in color, resembling those of nepal black cardamom or curry tree.

The fruits of Lardizabala biternata are edible.
They are eaten in Chile and its taste is very sweet.
Zabala is also used for making rope.

Sowing Lardizabala biternata seeds:
