Red amaranth is an annual plant that measures approximately 2 meters in height.
Its flowers are a bright red, very decorative during the summer period.
Amaranthus hypochondriacus is part of the Chenopodiaceae family.
It is a plant that is native to America.
Red amaranth seeds are round, small and yellow in color, they resemble those of the blue lotus.

Among the Incas and Mayans of Latin America, the seeds were known for their nutritional and spiritual qualities.
Shamans used it as sacred wheat during religious rituals.
