Presentation and use:

Horsemint is a variety of mint native to South Africa.
It is part of the Lamiaceae family.
Its flowering is purple in summer, just like water mint or chocolate mint.
Horsemint seeds are fine and small like those of marjoram.
This variety of mint is easily taken from cuttings in spring, it is also possible to reproduce it by root division.
Its size is rather high, measuring between 60 and 80 cm at the end of summer.

This mint has long, narrow leaves like Swiss mint.
Horsemint leaf gives off a slightly peppery minty smell when you rub the leaves, its smell is unique.
To be used as an infusion, herbal tea, to be enjoyed directly from the plant.
Possibility of making a Horsemint flavored sorbet.

Planting and cultivation:

Horsemint plant measuring between 10 to 25 cm in height upon delivery, delivered in a clump with numerous roots.
As soon as you receive your Horsemint plant, replant it quickly in a large 5 liter pot of horticultural soil, water moderately during planting then place the crop in a full sun location.

You can also grow Horsemint directly in the ground or in the garden in a sunny area.
